CAQH (the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare) runs a widely used online profile where providers maintain their credentialing information in one place. Many payers draw from a provider’s CAQH profile during credentialing and re-credentialing instead of collecting the same data separately.
Keeping the profile complete and attested (regularly confirmed as current) is what lets payers verify a provider without repeated paperwork.
Why it matters for billing
A stale or unattested CAQH profile is a common, invisible cause of credentialing delays — and a provider who is not credentialed cannot bill. Keeping the profile current and attested on schedule keeps enrollment moving and revenue flowing.
